Structural incorporation
The Wind Energy Research Group is one of many research groups at the FITT gGmbH, institute for technology transfer (FITT gGmbH) at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (HTWdS).
The main concern of the FITT institute is to enable the technology transfer between science and industry in the context of cooperative projects with industrial partners. As a non-profit institute, FITT takes the role of the project coordinator, while the Wind Energy Research Group is responsible for operational and technical management.
In October 2011 a collaboration of INNOWIND and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (Fraunhofer IWES) was initiated. The aim is the support of the IWES department “Drive and System Technology”, in which a project group “Gearless System Design” is working under the lead of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Friedrich Klinger in Saarbrücken.
