Every wind turbine consists of thousands of components and assemblies. Many of these components are of great importance and have a significant influence on the secure operation of a wind turbine. This is the reason why the design has to be done strictly according to engineering rules.

Our group makes use of several tools that can help to reduce the time required for designing the components and assemblies. We work with our CAD-system CATIA to generate three-dimensional geometries and ANSYS for  

finite element calculations. With the help of these calculations different components and assemblies can be analyzed regarding their static strength and their static and dynamic deformation behaviour. For simulation and analysis of the fatigue behaviour, we use the LMS Virtual.Lab.-
